2022 Distinguished Alumnus

Joe Lujan
President of Commercial Lines for HUB Southwest Albuquerque
Core Class of 2004

Joe Lujan is President of Commercial Lines for HUB Southwest Albuquerque Office. He was born and raised in New Mexico, is active in the community, and is deeply invested in improving New Mexico’s education system. Joe is a graduate and proud supporter of New Mexico State University, where he continues his service to the university as a member of the Business Council. He is also a founding member of Excellent Schools of New Mexico, and a board member of NewMexicoKidsCAN. Joe has been an integral part of Leadership New Mexico since 2004, serving as both Chair and board member. The son of Edward Lujan, a former Distinguished Leadership Award recipient, Joe generously offers his time to mentor anyone who asks for help to get their career started. Joe and his wife Dee have two sons; Josh and Jake, both working at HUB, and following in Joe’s footsteps with their involvement in Leadership New Mexico and well as other community programs. The family enjoys spending time together at Conchas Lake.

 

2022 Distinguished Leader

Fred E. Mondragon
Honorary Consul for Spain and
Founder & Owner of Mondragon International

Fred E. Mondragon was born in Anton Chico, New Mexico. He is the founder and owner of Mondragon International, providing consultation to small businesses, government, and healthcare agencies. Fred has 50+ years of experience in the public and private sectors. He served 3 terms in the New Mexico Legislature, was a member of the House Appropriations and Finance Committee, and was Chair of the Higher Ed. Subcommittee. He also served as the Science Advisor to the Governor of New Mexico; as Founding Chair of the Science & Technology Commission and is co-founder of Co-op Catalyst of New Mexico. He was a founding member of the National Institute of Flamenco and serves on several non-profit boards. He also serves as Chair of the Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation. He was appointed Honorary Consul for New Mexico by the Spanish Government. Fred and his wife Connie enjoy cultural activities, gardening, travel, and time with their 7 children and 19 grandchildren.
