The Leadership New Mexico Distinguished Alumnus Award was established in 2003 to recognize a Leadership New Mexico graduate whose leadership activities have exemplified the highest standards and have achieved statewide significance. The Distinguished Leadership Award was also established to recognize an individual or individuals who has used his or her leadership abilities to improve the quality of life for New Mexico citizens and future generations.

The 2020 Award Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Sandia Resort & Casino.

THE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARD

– Recognizes and promotes community involvement and provides incentives for the continued application of leadership skills
– Recognizes a Leadership New Mexico Alumnus who has used his or her leadership skills, knowledge, and resources to benefit New Mexico
– Serves as an example of leadership for others
– Elevates awareness of the benefits that dynamic leadership brings to the community and state

Eligibility and Criteria

Only Leadership New Mexico alumni are eligible to receive this award. No self-nominations please. Nominees should be individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership that has resulted in a significant impact on the economy and quality of life at the local or state level. The recipient must have demonstrated dynamic leadership skills in multiple settings and achieved extraordinary success in the goals he or she has set out to accomplish.

To nominate a candidate, please complete the Award Application Form. Additional pages may be attached and up to three (3) letters of support may be submitted.
